The Empowerment workers have been engaged into the Worth Project Activities since 2009,the overall goal of the project is to adapt and support the implementation and monitoring of an integrated economic empowerment and HIV prevention education intervention for vulnerable young women (15-24) living in Tanzania.
Currently their activities includes supervision to their formulated groups of Dada wa Leo and their economic projects through weekly visits, they facilitating groups to continue with their initiative of savings so that they can assist each other and improve their small business. Furthermore, the joint visits with other Empowerment Workers for the purpose of sharing experience and challenges concerning their groups have been conducted. They performed management committee training to their groups and they prepared to be good group leaders after acquired enough skills and knowledge concerning about their village Banks, also to make them aware of the different techniques on how to make their groups strong and wealthily depending on the revolving funds. Also the training was
useful to group leaders, due to the fact that it provides the chance to clear doubts on how they can implement their activities. The training was used to provide some clarification on how the informed consent and evaluation forms can be filled. Empowerment workers proceed with the class sessions on different issues concerning about Reproductive health and HIV/AIDS under the WORTH Programme continued.
It has been learnt that this Worth Project through the concept of Dada wa Leo (Sisters in Partnerships) have made significant impact among group members for example they have been able to increase their personal income, started their small businesses and maintained, reduced chances of unsafe sex, unplanned pregnancies and reduction on risks of HIV/AIDS.
