Commemoration of The Day of African Child

In 1976 the thousands of black school children in South Africa took to the street to protest the inferior quality of their education and to demand to be taught in their own language. The hundreds of children were killed and

more of thousands people were injured. In 1991 the Organization of African Unity to honor the memory of those lost their lives and encourages those who marched, the day of African Child was first celebrated and each year on June 16th Africa continue to celebrate the Day of African Child.

The theme of this year 2010 is Sustain the Family: For Children’s Rights

 KIWOHEDE commemorate the day by some of the children participating in Bunge session, ask questions the honorable President Kikwete on issue concerning Top Ten Investments on Children also some children will join their other children from Dogodogo, GNRC and Right to Play to commemorate the day at Mnazi mmoja ground on June 16th 2010.

Also children have some debates in radio concerning the this year theme
